American Academy of Pediatrics Updates Recommendations on Caring for Teens After Sexual Assault

Elk Grove Village, IL—(ENEWSPF)—February 27, 2017.  The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has updated its recommendations on how pediatricians address, treat and prevent acute sexual assault in adolescents. The AAP clinical report, “Care of the Adolescent After an Acute Sexual Assault,” published in the March 2017 issue of Pediatrics (published online Feb. 27) defines the term acute sexual assault as assaults having generally occurred within the last 72 hours.
