ANA and the International Medical Corps Recruiting Nurse Volunteers for Haiti, Jan. 19, 2010

Silver Springs, Maryland–(ENEWSPF)–January 19, 2010.  The American Nurses Association (ANA) has been contacted by the International Medical Corps to assist in recruiting nurse volunteers to work in a hospital on the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic in the following specialties:

  • Perioperative Services
  • Post-Anesthesia/Recovery
  • Care of post-operative surgical patients

Nurses interested in participating in this mission should send an e-mail to ANA.  Please be advised that volunteer responders should consider the following:

  1. Conditions are likely to be VERY austere.  Responders need to be physically fit and able to manage themselves in such an environment.
  2. Talk with your family and employer.  It is likely the mission could last more than 2 weeks.
