Washington, D.C.-(ENEWSPF)- The Village of Park Forest joined the STAR network as a Leadership Community in January 2014. As a member of the Leadership Program, the Village worked towards certification with a cohort of other communities from across the country.
On April 16, 2015, Park Forest received recognition as a 3-STAR Community.
Mayor Ostenburg gave special credit to Sustainability Coordinator Sarah Coulter.
STAR Communities is a nonprofit organization that works to evaluate, improve and certify sustainable communities.
