OREGON—(ENEWSPF)—August 13, 2016. Yesterday, Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine released their tax returns. While every presidential candidate with the exception of Gerald Ford have released their tax returns as part of the election process, Donald Trump refuses to do the same.
Trump’s excuses for failing to release his tax returns are that he is under audit. He also claims that there is just nothing in these returns that the American public would find of interest or be able to understand due to the fact that as an alleged billionaire, the forms are just too complicated for the average Joe to decipher.
The IRS has clearly indicated that there is no reason for Trump not to release his tax returns that are under audit. In fact, Richard Nixon’s tax returns were under audit when he released them. And I’m sure many others, like myself, would agree that it’s an insult to our intelligence to infer that we cannot understand Trump’s complicated tax returns.
Continuing to make these false statements as to why his tax returns cannot be released makes most Americans believe that Trump is hiding something. Is he really a billionaire? Does he really have business dealings with Russia? How much ‘real’ money does Trump donate to charity? Trump can easily put all this to rest by simply releasing his tax returns.
So, if you believe like most Americans that Donald Trump should release his tax returns, tell him so directly.
