Prairie State College Welcomes Two New Deans to its Administration

CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–August 10, 2017.  Prairie State College (PSC) recently welcomed two new deans to campus. Carol Fawcett, dean of allied health and emergency services, and Janice Kaushal, dean of career technical education, both joined the PSC administration in July.

n her new role at the college, Fawcett provides vision, leadership and support to the departments of Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Surgical Technology, Nursing Assistant, Fitness and Exercise, EMT and First Responder and Fire Science Technology.

A licensed physical therapist assistant, Fawcett comes to PSC from Fox College, where she served as a full-time faculty member and director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Before her time at Fox College, Fawcett had served in many roles in physical therapy assistance, including physical therapy aide and staff physical therapist assistant for Caremark Center for Physical Therapy and Industrial Rehabilitation; a lab assistant in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program for Morton College; a staff physical therapist assistant at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center; a site supervisor, center manager, and staff physical therapist assistant at NovaCare Rehabilitation; and then adjunct and full-time faculty, as well as the Physical Therapist Assistant Program Coordinator for Morton College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program.

Fawcett has an Associate in Applied Science from Morton College, a Bachelor of Science in Health Arts from the University of St. Francis and a Master of Science in Education from Capella University. She also holds a Master Online Teacher Certificate from the University of Illinois – Illinois Online Network. Fawcett is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Illinois Physical Therapy Association.

In her new role at PSC, Kaushal provides vision, leadership and support to the departments offering Associate of Applied Science degrees, career and technical certificates. She is responsible for management of all Dual Credit and Early College Initiatives with the local secondary schools in the PSC district.

Kaushal comes to PSC from North Park University in Chicago and Robert Morris University, where she was serving as an adjunct faculty member. She began her career in education at Robert Morris, serving as the program director and faculty member in the Chicago and Bensenville campuses and director of administration and then director of education on the DuPage Campus. At Robert Morris, she also had previously served as the dean of the Institute of Art & Design.

Kaushal has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia College. She currently is pursuing her Ph.D. in leadership for the advancement of learning and service in higher education at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisc. Kaushal also has served as a board member and secretary of the Illinois Network of Women in Higher Education.
