CHICAGO HEIGHTS—(ENEWSPF)—March 14, 2017. Prairie State College (PSC) is honoring healthcare professionals and students in the healthcare field with a day of recognition and professional development. The Unsung Heroes of Healthcare conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30, on the main campus located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.
The conference features sessions on empathy practices, congestive heart failure, caregiver care, safe patient movements and animal comfort care. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about industry specific topics and leave with tools and strategies to implement with their patients. All participants will get the chance to connect with exhibitors to obtain new resources and learn ways to enhance their roles in healthcare.
“We are excited about our speaker line up for this event. Attendees will enjoy a day of thought provoking topics that pertain to their professional lives or future careers,” said Dr. Marie Hansel, Vice President of Academic Affairs, “They will leave with new ideas and strategies that can easily be implemented to enhance their workplace or studies.”
General registration for the conference is $20, and includes lunch, a certificate of participation from PSC and a chance to win raffle prizes. Student registration is $15. For an additional $10, social workers, licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical professional counselors, nursing home administrators and nurses can add 4.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The registration deadline is March 22.
