Park Forest Public Library to Host Community Gardening Festival on Saturday, March 25


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 21, 2017. Do you like to garden? Do you want to know more about gardening? Do you love free stuff? Come to the Park Forest Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard, on Saturday, March 25 from 1 p.m. 3 p.m. and pick up free gardening resources, sign up to start a community garden in your neighborhood, and meet with community leaders and gardening experts.

Interested Park Forest individuals or gardening groups can apply to garden on an available vacant lot owned by the Village of Park Forest.  In exchange for maintaining the lot for the entire growing season, gardeners can receive a reimbursement of up to $250 for garden-related costs.

Additionally, garden groups may apply for a Village Community Garden Grant to receive up to $100 for community garden creation and development on properties belonging to their school, house of worship, or place of business.
