Come savor our successes in Chicago’s western suburbs while toasting our past triumphs in reducing the health risks and environmental impacts of pesticides. Enjoy fine wines, artisan eats, a raffle, and entertainment. We hope to see you there!
Gardens & Grapes will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Tannis Wine Bar, 112 N. York Street in Elmhurst. A complimentary parking lot will be available for guests to use.
From Naperville to Mount Prospect, Lake Bluff to Calumet Park, and reaching into Kane County as well as Wisconsin communities, we have logged a flurry of new additions to the Midwest Grows Green program including new pesticide free parks in Elmhurst, Park Ridge, and River Forest. State-wide, our amendment requiring better notification went into effect this year. For the past 23 years, Midwest Pesticide Action Center has been working at the local, state, and regional levels to protect people and the environment from the dangers of pesticides through advocacy, education, and outreach. Our goal is to create innovative programs that enable low-income housing communities, park and school districts, childcare providers, landscapers, and homeowner to reduce indoor and outdoor pesticide use.
