CHICAGO—(ENEWSPF)—August 25, 2017. Celebrate Labor Day in historic Pullman, where the holiday was born. The celebration will take place on Monday, September 4 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pullman National Monument in front of the Florence Hotel, 11111 South Forrestville in Chicago.
Please join labor activists from the Pullman community and throughout Chicago to kick off our effort to establish a monument to honor Eugene Debs, pioneering union leader who played a crucial role in the Pullman strike and in organizing railroad workers.
There will be food, music, walking tours of Historic Pullman, and opportunities for tabling of books, labor-related materials, and publicizing social justice issues.
