Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- We are happy to present the award winners from the 63rd Annual Park Forest Art Fair held last weekend (Sept 15-16, 2018). The downtown was awash in Cadmium red and Cobalt Blues, polished wood carved into beautiful shapes, Jewelry sparking in the sunlight, beautifully graceful pottery: what a beautiful scene, hosted by TallGrass Arts Association and presided over by Janet Muchnik.

There were about 50 Fine Art Vendors present stationed up and down Main Street downtown. There was live music, hot food, and even an area where patrons could sit in the shade and have a beer.

Walking the length of the exhibit I was pleased with the diversity of art and the number of new exhibitors. Hopefully, these people will return (many said they would) and bring other artists with them. It would be great to see even more new life brought to the Art Fair in the coming years.

As usual, there were awards and prizes. According to Ms. Muchnik, these are the awards for 2018:

Winner of the Luise Renner prize for 2-D work went to photographer.

Winner of the James Marzuki prize for 3-D work went to David Zahn.

Winner of the Terry Harrison prize for jewelry went to John Mroczek.

Winner of one of the two Judge’s Choice awards was Bronwyn Elkus.

Winner of the second Judge’s Choice award was Keith Herbrand for The Pottery Boys.

The Claire Zaret purchase prize for jewelry went to John Mroczk.

The Tom and Joan Krysinski purchase prize for sculpture went to David Zahn.

The Village’s four purchase prize awards went to Watercolor artist David Dalllison.

Sculptor Paul Scouten, Photographer Seung Jae Kim and Woodworker (the one who makes carving boards) Tom Tampa.

Congratulations to those fine Artists and to TallGrass and Ms. Muchnik for a wonderful Art Fair.

I hope to see even more new art and artists next year, same time, same place.
