SEIU: Americans Can’t Afford Romney Economics

WASHINGTON, DC–(ENEWSPF)–October 4, 2012.  After the first Presidential debate last night, Mary Kay Henry, International President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), issued the following statement:

“Mitt Romney doesn’t have a single idea to create new jobs other than going back to the failed trickle-down policies of the past. Those policies didn’t work and got us into the financial mess that President Obama inherited.

“Despite his disingenuous attempts to appeal to the 47 percent of voters he famously dismissed, Romney failed to come up with credible answers on the big issues facing working families. His plans for the economy are murky and he wants to keep them that way. He refuses to acknowledge that his economic agenda, tax cuts for the rich and trickle-down economics, will not help our economy recover. American voters aren’t buying it.

“Middle-class Americans cannot afford four years of ‘Romney Economics.’ We need a president who fights for us and that’s what we have in President Barack Obama.”
