WASHINGTON—(ENEWSPF)–April 7, 2015 – President Obama today unveiled an unprecedented and sweeping array of actions to lessen climate change’s adverse impacts on human health.
The following is a statement by Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council:
“Dangerous climate change is the existential environmental challenge of our time and it poses a serious threat to public health all around the world – especially among children, the elderly, the sick and the poor. President Obama is right to spotlight this threat — and to focus on how we can, and must, take swift, decisive action to reduce the now-unrestricted carbon pollution that fuels climate change. The president’s Clean Power Plan – the centerpiece of his Climate Action Agenda — will reap untold health benefits and protect all future generations.’’
