Greenpeace: Senate Moves Tillerson Questions Behind Closed Doors After Protests

WASHINGTON –(ENEWSPF)–January 12, 2017.  In response to the second day of questions to Secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson allegedly occurring behind closed doors with Senators, Greenpeace USA Climate Liability Campaigner Naomi Ages said:

“After four activists confronted Rex Tillerson and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee yesterday, the Senators have now retreated behind closed doors to continue with their questions to the ExxonMobil CEO. This is shameful. The majority of Americans who want action on climate change must push harder than ever to drag Trump’s crony cabinet nominations into the public light. Tillerson failed to meaningfully answer questions on climate change, his conflicts of interest, and his relationship with a war criminal. The people will not give up in their resistance no matter where Trump and his billionaire buddies try to hide.”
