Chicago Police Sergeants’ Association Endorses Bob Fioretti

Chicago, IL – (ENEWSPF)—January 6, 2015. Today the Chicago Police Sergeants’ Association announced their endorsement of Bob Fioretti’s candidacy for mayor.

“I’m honored and excited to have the support of the Sergeants’ Association,” said Fioretti.  “I have spoken consistently about our need to shore up our pension system, and the need for more officers on the street.  This administration is moving us in the wrong direction, and this endorsement for change demonstrates that.”

On Monday, Fioretti released his public safety platform at a press conference at his campaign headquarters. Among many other short and long term initiatives that take a holistic approach to creating safer streets, Fioretti pledged to hire an additional 500 officers in his administration. “We’ve found money in the budget in the past to pay for more officers, and the money exists in the current budget,” said Fioretti. “It’s a matter of making public safety a priority.”
