Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–November 21, 2011. AARP Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond offered the following statement in reaction to today’s announcement by the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (‘super committee’):
“AARP and our members recognize the urgent need and the daunting task in putting our nation’s finances on a more secure path. We regret that the Joint Committee was unable to achieve a solution. AARP will continue to fight for a balanced approach to solving our nation’s deficit – an approach that protects the vulnerable, promotes growth in the American economy, and improves the health and economic security of current and future generations. AARP will continue to be a strong voice for older Americans in this critically important debate.”
