Chicago, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Suburban Cook County voters selected President Barack Obama in 79 percent of precincts and 25 of 30 townships, according to a Nov. 6, 2012 Post-Election Report issued today by Clerk David Orr.
"Illinois may not have been a swing state, but voters here certainly wanted to have their voices heard," Orr said. "More than 1 million suburban Cook County voters cast ballots – and more than a quarter of those were cast before Election Day."
Like in 2008, President Obama often won by wide margins. For example, in a dozen precincts Obama secured 99 percent of the vote.
Calumet Township had the highest percentage (93%) of Democratic votes for president, while Barrington had the highest percentage (62%) of Republican votes for president.
