Silver Spring, Maryland—(ENEWSPF)—March 26, 2018

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Poppies International, Inc. of Battleboro, North Carolina is issuing a voluntary recall of its Delizza Belgian Custard Cream Mini Eclairs 30 Count that were made during March 5-9, 2018. Through a routine sampling program by the company, it was determined that these products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  Although healthy individuals may suffer only short term symptoms such as fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. No illnesses or adverse health effects resulting from consuming these products have been reported to date.

The products can be identified by the following lot number (L1M1018 Best Before 09/09/19) which can be found on the side of each tub by the lid as shown below.

If you have purchased or received any of the recalled products, discontinue use immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
