AAA: Gas Prices in Illinois/Indiana Continue to Decline


AURORA, Ill.–(ENEWSPF)–Nov 7, 2011- Gas prices throughout Illinois and Indiana continued to fall in October. Monthly average prices in Illinois for October were $3.49, according to AAA Chicago’s most recent Fuel Gauge Report. The Illinois average for regular unleaded gasoline has decreased $.28 during the past month, but is still $.58 higher than October 2010’s price.   

In northern Indiana, gas prices average $3.34, which is $.30 cents lower from September 2011 and up $.58 from October 2010.
“Lower oil prices combined with less demand, are driving prices down at the pump,” said Beth Mosher, director of public affairs for AAA Chicago.
  • In Cook County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.64, which is down $.32 from last month and is $.59 higher than last year’s price-per-gallon.         
  • In DuPage County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.50 per gallon, which is a 33-cent decrease from September and up $.56 from last year.         
  • In Kane County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.48 per gallon, which is 32 cents lower compared to last month and $.56 higher than October 2010’s price.         
  • In Lake County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.47 per gallon, which is 33 cents lower than last month and up by $.59 compared to this time last year.         
  • In McHenry County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.46 per gallon, which is 34 cents lower than last month’s average and $.57 higher than October 2010’s price.         
  • In Will County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.46 per gallon, which is 33 cents lower compared to last month and $.55 higher compared to last year.         
  • In Champaign County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.36 per gallon, which is $.28 lower than September and an increase of $.58 from last year.         
  • In McLean County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.37 per gallon, which is 22 cents lower than last month and $.54 higher than last year.         
  • In Peoria County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.40 per gallon, which is down $.24 compared to last month and up $.58 from October 2010.         
  • In Sangamon County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.40 per gallon, which is 15 cents lower than last month and $.59 higher than last year.         
  • In Winnebago County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.45 per gallon, a decrease of 29 cents from September and $.58 higher than October 2010.         
  • In Allen County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.37 per gallon, which is a decrease of 22 cents from last month and $.59 higher than October 2010’s price.         
  • In Lake County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.34 per gallon, a 31-cent decrease from September’s average and a $.56 increase from a year ago.         
  • In Porter County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.33 per gallon, which is a 30 cent decrease from than last month and $.57 higher than last year.         
  • In St. Joseph County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $3.36 per gallon, which is $.22 lower than last month and $.57 higher compared to last year.
