Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Police issued a statement Sunday indicating that department members were investigating a shooting incident in the 100 block of Warwick Street.
The initial investigation indicated that at least one person was shot and had been transported to a trauma center in critical condition, according to police. There was a heavy law enforcement presence, including SWAT teams, according to one witness.
Police urged residents and visitors to avoid the area.
There were road closures are in place, including along Warwick Street and Westwood Drive, the statement said.
At 7:29 PM, police reported that the area where the shooting occurred was secure and there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Police remained on the scene investigating this incident.
All road closures outside of the 100 block of Warwick had been removed by the time the 7:29 PM update was issued.
