Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A black 42-inch flat-screen Phillips television valued at $1100, an eMachines computer monitor and black eMachines modem valued at $600, a Samsung digital camera valued at $100, a black laptop computer valued at $800, two diamond stud earrings valued at $700, a silver link watch with gold/black face valued at $100, and an Xbox 360 game system and two black controllers valued at $250 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Larue Street on October 7.

Darius J. Long, 17, 301 New Salem St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 10 and issued citations charging operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid driver’s license, obstructed windshield, and failure to wear a properly secured and fasten seat belt when an officer patrolling in the area of Western Avenue and Sauk Trail observed the vehicle Long was driving stopped at the red light, and observed that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt, according to police. A passenger in the vehicle, Deshaun D. Harris, 18, 137 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested and issued a municipal ticket charging possession of cannabis.

A fire safe and a blue pillowcase were discovered in the front yard of a residence in the first block of Gibson Road on October 10. The items were turned over to police.

Nicos Davis, 18, 3440 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on October 10 at approximately 2:36 a.m., and issued municipal tickets charging underage consumption of alcohol and improper equipment when an officer on patrol traveling southbound on Western Avenue observed Davis operating a bicycle on the roadway without a light while traveling northbound at the north intersection of Western Avenue and Dogwood Street.

A garage door at a residence in the 400 block of Suwanee Street was reported kicked in on October 10.

A brown Schwinn bicycle, valued at $100, a purple, blue, and black 10-speed "Land Rover" bicycle, valued at $100, a dark pink mountain bike, valued at $100, and a light green mongoose BMX bicycle, valued at $150, were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Minocqua Street on October 10.

A black Phillips 19-inch flat-screen television valued at $400 was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Miami Street on October 11.

Two bottles of liquor were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Seminole Street on October 12.

Jamon R. Crawford, 28, 22207 Belmont Rd., Richton Park, was arrested on October 14 and charged with criminal damage to property and aggravated assault when police responded to the 300 block of Oswego Street to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

A blue, soft cooler/bag containing 50 music CDs, a checkbook, and notebooks with personal information in them, was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Green Street on October 15.

A Kenwood CD/radio model #KDC-132 valued at $150 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the Metra Lot, 520 Homan Ave., on October 15. The driver’s side window of the vehicle had been broken to gain entry, according to police.

A dark gray Garman GPS valued at $200 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Lakewood Boulevard on October 15. The driver’s door of the vehicle had been left unlocked.

An Xbox 360 game system valued at $300, a Nintendo Wii game system valued at $300, an unknown amount of United States coins, a “Daisy” brand BB gun, and miscellaneous jewelry items were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Minocqua Street on October 15.

One spent PMC .45 caliber shell casing was found on the bike path behind a residence in the 300 block of Todd Street after police responded to that area in reference to a report of shots fired. The caller related seeing several juvenile subjects running from the area. A witness related hearing one gunshot near the rear of her house and observing four black male subjects, 16-20 years of age, wearing either white t-shirts or dark clothes, run from the driveway of a house in the 300 block of Todd Street, and then West on Berry Street. Police continue to investigate.

A Hewlett-Packard computer valued at $500 was reported stolen from Aunt Martha’s, 23485 Western Ave., on October 16. According to police, unknown person(s) threw a large rock through a window in a classroom, entered the classroom through the broken window, and removed the computer. Police gathered evidence from the scene and continue to investigate.

Mark A. Cannon, 26, 280 Green St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 16 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Green Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A blue 17-inch Toshiba laptop computer, valued at $900, a laptop charger, valued at $20, and a PSP wall charger, valued at $20, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Elm Street on October 16.
