Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Melissa Coan, 45, 321 Douglas St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 6 and charged with violation of an order of protection when an officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate a report of a violation of an order of protection.

A juvenile was arrested on June 15 and charged with domestic battery and processed on an outstanding warrant charging robbery following an investigation that began June 6 when a resident phoned the Park Forest Police Department to file a complaint.

Dennis R. Schrage, 1825 E. Offner Rd., Beecher, was arrested June 7 and charged with burglary when an officer saw a vehicle parked in the 23400 block of Western Avenue at a location the officer knew to be vacant, according to police.

A flat-screen television valued at $500, a Dell laptop computer valued at $800, an Apple iPad 2 valued at $500, a black Magnavox DVD player valued at $50, and a black Sanyo 26-inch flat-screen television valued at $350 were among items reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard on June 7.

A black Toshiba satellite laptop computer valued at $400, a PlayStation 3 game and controller valued at $300, a 32-inch Samsung television valued at $500, and approximately $30 in currency were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Westwood Drive on June 8.

A resident told police that she checked her credit score and discovered two bills that were outstanding: an electric bill for $111.96 and a Comcast bill for $530.02. The resident was advised that both accounts were opened, serviced and used in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The resident was given information on identity theft.

A $100 bill, two gold necklaces valued at $250 each, a small gold bracelet for a child and one matching gold necklace valued at $400, a pair of 18 karat gold hoop earrings valued at $250, and a Samsung cell phone valued at $100 were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Farragut Street on June 9.

A green and black Brand bicycle valued at $100 was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of 26th Street on June 9.

A red 1997 Toyota Corolla, Illinois license plate L315932, was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Park Forest Aqua Center, 30 N. Orchard Drive, on June 9. The owner of the vehicle said she believes she left her keys in the lock of the trunk.

Ismael Torres, 48, 270 Arcadia St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 9 and charged with obstruction of a peace officer when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arcadia Street in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police were dispatched to the first block of Bigelow Road on June 10 to investigate a suspicious person complaint. A resident reported that when he arrived home, he saw an unknown subject running from the front window of his home. Upon investigation, the resident discovered that the window screen where the subject had run from had been pushed in and bent. Police gathered evidence from the scene.

Police were dispatched to Hickory School, 119 Chestnut St., to investigate a dumpster fire. The responding officer observed that the contents of the Skyline dumpster were on fire. The fire was extinguished by the Park Forest Fire Department. Police are investigating the cause.

Clifford Franklin, 45, 23437 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on June 10 and charged with felony disorderly conduct when police responded to a parking lot in the 23400 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a disturbance.

A black 60-inch Mitsubishi television valued at $3000 and a PlayStation 3 game system valued at $300 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Miami Street on June 10.

A juvenile was arrested on June 10 and charged with misdemeanor battery when police were dispatched to a parking lot at Rich East High School, 300 Sauk Trail, to investigate a report of a disturbance. A second juvenile was arrested and charged with misdemeanor reckless driving. The vehicle that juvenile was driving was seized by police per a village ordinance regarding weapons in a vehicle. The weapon in this case was a baseball bat the juvenile had allegedly held out of a window and threatened the other juvenile, according to police.

A black 160 GB iPod Touch was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Indiana Street on June 10.

Two remotes for a PlayStation 3 device valued at $100, a PlayStation 3 game unit valued at $200, five miscellaneous Xbox video games valued at $250, two Xbox game controllers valued at $100, an Xbox 360 game unit valued at $250, a black Emerson flat-screen 42-inch television valued at $600, and a black 47-inch Sony flat-screen television valued at $750 were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on June 10.

Police discovered a damaged door frame when an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of North Orchard Drive on June 11 to investigate an attempted residential burglary.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Forest Boulevard on June 11. Police say there were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle and the owner said the vehicle may have been unlocked.

The back window of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Oswego Street was reported shattered on June 11.

A juvenile was arrested on June 11 and charged with theft when police responded to the area of Niagara Street and Blackhawk Drive to investigate the theft of a bicycle that had just happened, according to police.

A homeless man told police on June 12 that three bags of clothing he left under a bench in Central Park had been stolen.

A Razor electric scooter valued at $150, a 32-inch flat-screen television valued at $500, a 36-inch flat-screen television valued at $500, and a 42-inch flat-screen television valued at $600 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Water Street on June 11.

A door of a residence in the first block of Water Street was reported damaged on June 11. Police observed a smeared muddy shoeprint on the exterior side of the door.

A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Gentry Street on June 11.

A window of a residence in the 200 block of Ash Street was reported shattered by a landscaping brick on June 11.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Walnut Street on June 11.

A doorframe of a residence in the 100 block of Algonquin Street was discovered damaged when police were dispatched to investigate a burglar alarm on June 11.

Police responded to the 300 block of Ash Street to investigate a burglary to a motor vehicle on June 11. A resident discovered several pieces of paper had been removed from the glove box of his vehicle, which had been left unlocked.

Gerald L. Farmer, 429 Parnell St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on June 11 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to Forest Trail Middle School, 215 Wilson Street, to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A window of a residence in the 300 block of Westgate Drive was reported shattered on June 11.

A window of a residence in the 3500 block of Western Avenue was reported shattered on June 11.

Police were dispatched to the area of Illinois and Indiana Streets to investigate a report of domestic battery on June 12. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

An Illinois identification card and two credit cards were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Algonquin Street on June 12.

A juvenile was arrested on June 12 and charged with retail theft when an officer on foot patrol inside Walgreens, 15 S. Orchard Drive, observed two subjects in the lobby area of the business suddenly walk towards the front entry doors, according to police.

A screen for a window of a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street was reported torn on June 12.

A large rock was thrown through the dining room picture window of a residence in the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard on June 12.

Jazmine B. Dumas, 18, 137 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on June 12 and issued a municipal citation charging trespassing when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Waldmann Drive was reported vandalized with white paint on June 12.

A backpack with miscellaneous schoolbooks valued at $200, a scientific calculator valued at $200, a Samsung Galaxy tablet valued at $600, a men’s wedding band valued at $200, and other personal items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Central Park, 420 Lakewood Boulevard, on June 12.

A window of a residence in the 100 block of 26th Street was reported shattered on June 12.

An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on June 13 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident told police that when attempting to withdraw $60 from an ATM she learned that she was $237.66 overdrawn. Police are investigating.

A window of a residence in the 200 block of Miami Street was reported shattered on June 13.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard to investigate a report of a suspicious person on June 13. A resident told police that upon arriving home, she attempted to open a door but discovered that it had been locked from the inside with a latch that could only be locked from inside the residence. She further observed that a rear door was unlocked and opened. Nothing appeared to be missing from the residence. Police are investigating.

A hot water heater, an unknown amount of copper pipe, and a central air-conditioning unit were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Nokomis Street on June 13.

Police say a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Nanti Street was allegedly scratched by a juvenile on June 14. Police are investigating.

A purse containing $480 cash and other items was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 400 block of Talala Street on June 14.

A Magellan GPS was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Juniper Street on June 14.

A juvenile was arrested on June 15 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to Mohawk School, 301 Mohawk Street, to investigate a domestic battery complaint.

A sewing machine valued at $200, 12 7-Up soda cans valued at five dollars, 22 compact discs valued at $50, and a bag containing $30 in miscellaneous items was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of Wayne Street on June 15.

A 1999 Ford U-Haul Truck, Arizona License plate ADO3409, was reported stolen from a business in the 2200 block of Western Avenue on June 15. Police say the vehicle was rented on May 23 and never returned. Police have suspect information.

Montel E. Louis-Jean, 19, 277 Arrowhead St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 16 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.
