Park Forest Police Reports for July 27, 2009


An Xbox 360 game console valued at $299.99, two Xbox game controllers valued at $80, five DVD movies valued at $75, a one carat Princess-cut white gold engagement ring valued at $2200, two diamond earrings valued at $200, a gold ring with diamond pieces valued at $200, and $20 cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Sauk Trail on July 17.

Donald D. Henderson, 19, 213 Washington St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 17 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Two living room windows of a house in the 200 block of Early Street were reported shattered on July 19.

A black Compaq laptop computer valued at $1500, a Toshiba 26-inch television valued at $900, and a backpack valued at $30 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Algonquin Street on July 17.

James E. Wooden, 26, 78 Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 17 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol observed Wooden walking on 26th Street at Western Avenue pushing a lawnmower. According to police, due to recent thefts of lawnmowers in the area, the officer conducted a “Terry Stop” on the individual. A lawnmower had not been reported as stolen, according to police.

Police were dispatched to the first block of East Rocket Circle on July 18 to investigate a report of a burglar alarm. According to police, it appeared a subject or subjects had entered the residence, but nothing appeared to be missing or damaged because the alarm activated and scared the subject(s), according to police.

A gray and black Emerson 19-inch flat-screen television valued at $600 was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Apache Street on July 19.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arcadia Street on July 19 in reference to a report of suspicious subjects with possible stolen property. The alleged offenders fled the area, discarding their shirts, according to police. Police recovered a 20-inch Emerson flat-screen television valued at $600.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Algonquin Street to investigate a report of a burglary. A cell phone was reported missing.

Darryl A. Holloway, 17, 1016 Mildred Lane, University Park, was arrested on July 19 and charged with retail theft and battery when police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a report of retail theft. Holloway was located in the field behind the shopping center by police canine Brix.

The living room window of a residence in the 300 block of Herndon Street was reported shattered on July 19.

The front driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Forest Boulevard was reported shattered on July 19.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ash Street to investigate a report of domestic battery. There were no arrests. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

A juvenile was arrested on July 20 and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, domestic battery, and resisting a police officer when police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Sycamore Drive to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Samira Malik, 28, 176 Westwood Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on July 20 and charged with possession of cannabis. Charisteen M. Beasley, 27, 2720 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer on street patrol conducted a premise exam at 240 Indianwood Boulevard, the Lyons Field parking lot, shortly after 10 p.m., and observed a vehicle in the lot, which was unusual due to the time of night, and no athletic events taking place at that moment.

Sydney M. Streatar, 18, 343 Nassau St., Park Forest, and a 13-year-old juvenile were arrested on July 20 and issued municipal tickets charging disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Library to investigate a report of a fight.

A 26-inch Toshiba flat-screen television valued at $378 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Westgate Drive on July 21.

A 42-inch Vizio flat-screen television valued at $650 was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on July 21.

The screen of a bedroom window in the 400 block of Tamarack Street was reported damaged on July 21.

A resident in the 100 block of Marquette Street discovered a 16-year-old male sleeping in a pop-up camper on July 21. The alleged offender fled. Nothing was damaged or missing, according to police.

An officer was dispatched on July 21 to investigate a report of a violation of an order of protection on July 21. Police continue to investigate.

The windshield of a vehicle parked in the 23400 block of Western Avenue was reported cracked on July 21.

Police were dispatched to US Bank, 99 Indianwood Blvd., on July 21 to investigate a report of fraud. A credit card was allegedly used without the owner’s permission, resulting in transactions in excess of $4000, according to police.

A pink Nikon digital camera, valued at $100, was reported stolen from a bag left on a bench in the Aqua Center on July 22.

Ronald F. McCoy, 34, 301 Minocqua St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 22 and charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Minocqua Street regarding a report of neighborhood trouble involving a group of subjects standing in the intersection of Shabbona Drive and Minocqua Street. Dajae O. Lockhart, 18, 17720 Country Club Dr., Country Club Hills, was arrested in connection with the same incident and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance.

The driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Homan Avenue was shot by a BB gun on July 22, according to police. Police also noticed two circular dents in the driver’s side door.

Lovell Drew, Jr., 30, 111 Elm St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 22 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Elm Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.

The left side mirror of a motorcycle parked in the 100 block of Park Street was reported broken off on July 23. Police also discovered that the fairing was damaged, and the headlight had a scuff mark.

An Xbox 360 game system with two remote controls, valued at $300, was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Forest Boulevard on July 23.

A Nextel cell phone and a set of keys were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lakewood Boulevard on July 23.

An Xbox videogame console valued at $299 and jewelry valued at $500 was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Somonauk Street on July 24.
