Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A window of a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street was reported shattered on September 2.

An officer was dispatched to the first block of Bigelow Street on September 2 in reference to a report of fraud. A resident told police that she received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the United States Treasury Department informing her that she was delinquent on $5814.32 in taxes that owed from the 2010-2011 tax year. She was instructed to wire the cash via Money Gram which she did after borrowing $4600 from her daughter-in-law to make up the difference from what she had in her bank account. The resident kept in touch with the man who claimed to be from the IRS and transferred the money over a period of three days. She then realized this was a scam.

A resident in the 300 block of Waldman Street told police on September 3 that he received a notice from a collection agency showing that he owed $2277.34 to Verizon Wireless. He told police that he had never had a Verizon account. Police are investigating.

Javonte D. Johnson, 22, 22232 Willow Tree Ln., Sauk Village, was arrested on September 5 and charged with driving while license was suspended, obstructing identification, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no front license plate when an officer patrolling at the intersection of Main Street and Western Avenue observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue without a front license plate or bumper, according to police.

The rear windshield of a vehicle parked in the first block of Sauk Trail was reported shattered on September 5. The window was shattered while the owner of the vehicle was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

A 26-inch mountain bike and a Next Star bicycle with 16-inch tires were reported stolen from the porch of a residence in the 100 block of Hemlock Street on September 6.

The rear driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Davis Street was reported shattered on September 7.

A headlight sensor was reported stolen from the front driver’s side bumper of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Marquette Street on September 7.

Larry D. Bibbs, 65, 350 Juniper St., Apt. 1003, Park Forest, was arrested on September 7 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Juniper Street in reference to a report of a disturbance.

James E. Burks, 23, 23433 Western Ave., Apt. A6, Park Forest, was arrested on September 7 and issued a municipal citation charging trespassing when police were dispatched to a business in the first block of South Orchard Drive in reference to a complaint of an unwanted subject.

Arrice L. Aldridge, 38, 124 Berry St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 8 and charged with telephone threats after police were dispatched to the first block of Forest Wood Lane to investigate a report of telephone threats.

Robert M. Adams, 29, 7207 S. Seeley Ave., Chicago, was arrested on September 8 and charged with resisting and obstruction when police responded to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate a report of a theft from a motor vehicle that allegedly took place in the 300 block of Sauk Trail.

The passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Arbor Trail was reported shattered on September 8.

A Sig Sauer P225 .9mm gun, serial #M557723, was discovered on the street at the intersection of Apple Lane and Oak Street by a resident on September 8. Police discovered that the gun contained eight brass rounds in its magazine, none of them chambered. The recovered firearm was entered into LEADS.

A resident returning home to her apartment in the 100 block of North Arbor Trail discovered scratch marks on her front door near the door handle and lock mechanism. Nothing appeared to be disturbed or missing from the apartment. Police are investigating.

The front driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the municipal parking lot in the 500 block of Homan Avenue was reported shattered on September 8.

An Asus computer valued at $500, miscellaneous jewelry items and a box full of various liquor bottles were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive on September 8.

A silver Apple MacBook computer valued at $1200, and HP computer valued at $400, and a purse were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 300 block of Blackhawk Drive on September 8.

A resident told police on September 9 that over $2000 were charged against his bank account without his permission on September 8. He discovered the discrepancies when he went to a branch of his bank in Richton Park and discovered that his bank account was minus $500. The branch manager told police that he believes that there is a credit card scanner located at unknown gas stations in the area of Country Club Hills or Steger. Police are investigating.

A resident in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive told police on September 11 that he discovered an overhead door to his storage shed completely open on that date at about 8 AM. He went outside and observed that his leaf blower, weed Wacker, hedge trimmer, an extension cord had been taken from the shed and placed on the ground just a few feet away from it. Nothing appeared to be missing but he called police to investigate.

A rear basement window of a residence in the 200 block of Lee Street was reported shattered on September 11.

Jamal C. Watson, 23, 404 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 11 and issued a traffic citation charging speeding (allegedly 50 mph in a 30 mph zone) and a local ordinance ticket charging possession of cannabis when an officer facing southbound in the 300 block of Blackhawk Drive observed that the vehicle Watson was driving was allegedly traveling 50 mph in a posted speed limit zone of 30 mph, according to police.

A white 2004 Chevrolet Impala, Illinois license plate E397019, was reported stolen from an open garage in the first block of Water Street on September 11. Police discovered broken glass on the inside of the garage on the floor.
