Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Kenneth R. Cross, 26, 1430 Donovan Dr., Apt. 303, Chicago Heights, was arrested on September 13 and charged with driving while license was suspended, no insurance, open alcohol, and possession of cannabis when police working a roadside sobriety check in the 23400 block of Western Avenue signaled for the vehicle Cross was driving to pull over.

A resident told police that someone attempted to break into a home in the 400 block of Talala Street through a bedroom window on September 17. Someone sleeping inside heard a loud noise. Police found the screen from the window on the ground near the residence.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Fir Street on September 18.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 23400 block of South Western Avenue on September 19.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Dogwood Street on September 19.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3300 block of Western Avenue on September 19.

A silver 2007 Honda Odyssey, Illinois license plate V130551, was reported stolen from the 100 block of Berry Street. The vehicle had been left unlocked, the keys were in the ignition and the motor was running.

Stephanie D. James, 34, 424 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 19 and issued a municipal ticket charging disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to Michelle Obama School, 215 Wilson St., to investigate a report of a disturbance. A juvenile was also arrested and issued a municipal ticket charging battery.

Police responded to the first block of North Arbor Trail on September 19 to investigate a report of harassing phone calls. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

A side door of a detached garage of a residence in the 100 block of Peach Street was discovered forced open and damaged on September 19. Nothing was reported stolen.

A resident in the first block of Washington Court was issued municipal citations on September 19 charging dogs repeatedly disturbing the peace, dogs running at large, and animal license required when police were dispatched to that residence to investigate a report of two dogs running at large.

The front and back license plates, Illinois K943152, of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of 26th Street were reported stolen on September 20.

A $100 bill and an unknown amount of loose change was reported stolen during a residential burglary at a residence in the 300 block of Mohawk Street on September 20.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Elm Street on September 21.

Chelsey M. Simmons, 22, 1031 Samson Dr., University Park, was arrested on September 21 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when police participating in a roadside sobriety checkpoint in the 23400 block of Western Avenue directed the vehicle Simmons was driving to pull over. Kevin K. Manning Jr., 23, 914 Fiesta Dr., University Park, a passenger in the vehicle, was issued municipal citations charging transportation of open alcohol and possession of cannabis.

Both side rear view mirrors and the windshield of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Main Street were reported broken and cracked on September 22. Police say there were also multiple dents in the vehicle.

Jeffrey Crosby, 33, 185 Westwood St., Park Forest, and Akilah Thomas, 30, 320 Illinois St., Park Forest, were arrested on September 22 and charged with theft and two counts of criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. A witness reported seeing two subjects in the rear of two residences allegedly tearing items off the rear of the houses. There were numerous pieces of red aluminum siding matching the siding at one of the residences and white aluminum siding matching the siding at the other residence in Thomas’ car, according to police.

An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on September 22 to investigate a report of identity theft. A resident told police that, while looking into buying a house and checking his credit report, he observed several outstanding debts that he stated he was not responsible for.

An iPhone was reported stolen from a student at Rich East High School on September 22.

Four pieces of luggage stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of Westwood Drive were found in Winnebago Park on September 23. A Canon digital camera, one can of deodorant and one bottle of cologne were the only items reported stolen from the luggage.

A window on the back door of a residence in the 400 block of Suwanee Street was reported shattered on September 23.

Frank A. Sykes Jr., 18, 21701 Gailine Ave., Sauk Village, was arrested on September 23 and charged with criminal trespass to real property when police were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of criminal trespass.

Police responded to the vicinity of Marquette Park on September 24 to investigate a report of multiple shots fired. Police spoke with witnesses who related hearing between four and six gunshots fired coming from the direction of Marquette Park. Police searched the park for shell casings with negative results.

Patrick J. Kukosh, 44, 2745 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on September 24 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia when police responded to the area of Elm Street and Court E-3 regarding a report of a subject going door to door asking residence for money and cigarettes, according to police.

Reginald Driver, 28, 22400 Butterfield Dr., Apt. 213, Richton Park, was arrested on September 25 and charged with one count of domestic battery when police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a domestic battery complaint.

Chiedu H. Nwaokai, 27, 3442 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on September 26 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Western Avenue in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.

Approximately 20 quarters and a remote garage door opener were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of Westwood Drive on September 26.

Approximately 25 feet of copper piping was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Sauk Trail on September 26.

A juvenile was arrested on September 26 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to Rich East High School to investigate a disorderly conduct report.

An iPhone was reported stolen from a student at Rich East High School on September 26.

Jonathan A. Bonilla, 31, 1430 Vincennes St., Crete, was arrested on September 26 and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, disobeying a traffic control device, driving while license was revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper Lane usage when officers conducting a roadside DUI checkpoint in the 23400 block of Western Avenue observed the vehicle Bonilla was driving travel outside the traffic Lane line and onto the raised median, according to police. Bonilla was also processed on an outstanding warrant out of Orland Hills.

A red and white male Schwinn hybrid bicycle and a gray female Schwinn hybrid bicycle were reported stolen from the 200 block of Juniper Street on September 26.

Travis N. Marley, 25, 1123 Abbott St., University Park, was arrested on September 26 and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis and improper lighting-one headlight, when police conducting a sobriety roadside safety check in the 23400 block of Western Avenue observed that the vehicle Marley was driving had only one working headlight, according to police.

A window of a residence in the 100 block of Wilson Street was reported shattered by a rock on September 28. Police say the residence were in their upstairs bedroom when they heard a loud bang and saw a rock fall to the floor.

David P. Smith, 23, 57 Willow Rd., Matteson, was arrested on September 28 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of drug paraphernalia when police were dispatched to the 23400 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of an occupied suspicious vehicle.

A clear glass jar containing approximately $25 in change, a clear plastic container containing approximately $25 in change, and another $25 in change were reported stolen during a residential burglary at a residence in the first block of Sauk Trail on September 28. Police responded to that residence after someone walking a dog reported that a door to the residence appeared to be kicked in.

A computer was reported stolen during a residential burglary from a residence in the 400 block of Suwanee Street on September 28. Police say entry was made to the residence by someone kicking in a door.

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Shabbona Drive on September 28 to investigate a report of identity theft. A resident told police that she was advised that she could not open and AT&T cable account because she had an outstanding balance from another cable television package that had been opened up in her name approximately two years ago. The resident said she never opened that account, which has an outstanding balance of $1510.

A Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet computer was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Westwood Drive on September 29. Police say entry was made to the vehicle by shattering the driver’s side door window.

An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on September 29 to investigate a report of credit card fraud. A resident told police that a credit card he was to receive in June ever arrived and, upon contacting the bank, he was advised that the card had been used at a business in Homewood.

Brandon E. Tillman, 25, 4411 W. 188th St., Country Club Hills, was arrested on September 30 and issued municipal citations charging possession of drug paraphernalia and no rear registration light when an officer on patrol observed that the vehicle Tillman was driving northbound on Orchard Drive at North Street had no rear registration plate light, according to police.

A window in the back door of a residence in the 400 block of Springfield Street was reported shattered on September 30.

A utility room door at a residence in the 400 block of Winnebago Street was discovered to have been kicked in on September 30.

Two flat-screen televisions stolen during a residential burglary in the 300 block of Illinois Street were recovered by Matteson police who were dispatched to the area of Homan Avenue and Old Plank Trail to investigate a report of two suspicious male subjects walking westbound on Old Plank Trail carrying flat-screen televisions. While the Matteson Police Department was en route, the complainant advised that the two subjects placed the televisions in the weeds off of Old Plank Trail and ran away.

A Carrier air-conditioning unit valued at $300 was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of North Orchard Drive on October 1.

An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on October 1 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident told police that her wallet had been lost or possibly stolen at an unknown time and location. When she went to the bank, she discovered there had been unauthorized debit transactions on her account in the amount of $520.42 and credit card transactions in the amount of $1340. She also discovered that several checks had been paid to the order of a person whose name she did not recognize.

An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on October 1 to investigate a report of identity theft. A Lansing resident told police that she was contacted by Verizon Wireless regarding an account in her name, advising that she had purchased three LG smart phones. The victim said that the billing address was for her residence in Lansing, Illinois, but the phones were sent to a residence in the 300 block of Sauk Trail in Park Forest. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

Five fur coats valued at $25,000 total were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Wilson Street on October 1.

A Burgundy 2002 Lexus E350, Illinois license plate S861437, was reported stolen from the 300 block of Farragut Street on October 2.

Gregory Lewis Irwin, 61, 2219 Chicago Ave., Minneapolis, MN, was arrested on October 2 and charged with driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance when an officer conducting traffic radar in the 2300 block of Western Avenue observed the vehicle Irwin was driving pulled into a vacant lot and park.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Hickory Street on October 2 two investigate a burglar alarm. Police responded and observed an open door leading to the basement. Police observed two shoeprints on the door near the handle. The door frame was cracked, according to police. Nothing appeared to be stolen, according to police.
