Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A bottle of vodka valued at $22 was reported stolen from CVS Pharmacy, 1 Main St., on October 12.

A Kenmore gas stove valued at $500, a Kenmore refrigerator valued at $600, a Kenmore washer and dryer with a combined value of $1000, a 40 gallon hot water tank valued at $400, a residential furnace, and a home surveillance camera system including one camera and hard drive were reported stolen from a residence during a residential burglary in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on October 13.

A window of a residence in Somonauk Court was reported shattered by a rock on October 14.

A juvenile was arrested on October 14 and processed on a charge of battery when police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard regarding an unwanted person complaint, according to police.

Erik M. Hampton, Jr., 21, 356 Minocqua St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 14 and charged with possession of cannabis, failure to signal when required, defective windshield, and no insurance when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Neosho Street in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle.

A man told police on October 15 that he and a friend stopped at a residence in the first block of Brookside Road in Park Forest so they could purchase cannabis. Upon arrival at the residence, the two got out of the car and were approaching the residence when two subjects approached them. The driver of the vehicle got in the car and drove away. The remaining individual said that one of the subjects immediately pointed what appeared to be a handgun into the right side of his body and that both subjects proceeded to batter him while demanding that he empty his pockets. Police say the subjects stole an HTC cell phone and a black leather wallet with $13 cash inside.

A rock was reported thrown through a window of a residence in the 400 block of Winnebago Street on October 15.

A Vizio flat-screen television valued at $700, a Panasonic Blu-ray player valued at $170, a Dell computer valued at $500, and miscellaneous amounts of jewelry valued at $300 were reported stolen from a residence in the 21000 block of Central Park Avenue during a residential burglary on October 15.

Danielle A. Banks, 34, 448 Shabbona Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on October 15 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Shabbona Drive in reference to a report of a disturbance.

A juvenile was arrested on October 17 and processed on a charge of obstructing an officer when police responded to the 400 block of Main Street regarding a retail theft investigation.

Police made one arrest in connection with an armed robbery report that occurred on October 18 in the 400 block of Sauk Trail just before 9 PM. Police continue to investigate.

An exterior air-conditioning unit was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Apache Street on October 18.

Evelina Chambers, 43, 1145 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on October 19 and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the area of Western Avenue and Main Street regarding a report of a female subject who called 911 because she wanted a ride from the police to her home in Chicago Heights. Police say upon arrival, they made contact with Chambers, who appeared intoxicated, according to police. She requested a ride to her residence in Chicago Heights from the police, according to police. Police transported her to the Park Forest Police Department so she could arrange for another way of transportation to her home in Chicago Heights, according to police. Police say that, after leaving Chambers in the lobby of the police station, SouthCom dispatch notified officers that Chambers had again dialed 911, claiming that the police did not take her home to Chicago Heights. She was advised by dispatch to not call unless it was an emergency. Police say she called 911 a third time while walking northbound on Forest Boulevard from the Police Department. Officers made contact with Chambers on Forest Boulevard at Krotiak Road and placed her under arrest, according to police.

Ms. Shaquela L. Kessee, 28, 16120 Wood St., Markham, was arrested and issued traffic citations and given a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when police observed that the vehicle she was driving southbound on Forest Boulevard at Norwood Street had no rear registration light, according to police.

Police were in the 100 block of Chestnut Street on October 19 when they observed a yellow school bus that had a shattered front windshield in a parking lot. Inside the bus, police discovered a first aid kit which had been opened with items removed and left on the floor of the bus. Police are investigating.
