Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Police are investigating a violation of an order of protection reported June 10 in the 100 block of Dogwood St.

A 55-inch LG flat-screen television, a 47-inch flat-screen television, a 51-inch Samsung flat-screen television, and four bottles of alcohol are among items reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Suwanee Street on June 10.

Matthew A. Blevins, Jr., 34, 4032 Charleston Road, Matteson, was arrested on June 12 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Sauganash Street to investigate a report of a domestic dispute.

Approximately $600 cash was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard on June 12.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Juniper Street on June 12 to investigate a report of a disturbance. Police were met in the lobby of the apartment building by a male victim who was bleeding profusely from two large lacerations located in his arm and chest. Police have suspect information and charges are pending.

A purse was reported stolen from the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard, on June 13.

An overnight payment dropbox of a business in the 2500 block of Western Avenue was reported vandalized on June 13. Police are investigating.

Police responded to the 100 block of Nanti Street on June 13 to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

Wanestta D. Freeman, 39, 1143 Sterling Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on June 13 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance when police stopped a vehicle on Norwood Drive just east of the intersection with Western Avenue. Police say the vehicle did not have a front registration plate. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation charging no front registration plate.

A man walking eastbound on Lakewood Boulevard on June 13 was approached near the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and Westwood Drive by between six and eight male teenagers. One of them asked him if he wanted to buy some drugs. When he responded negatively, the same subject asked him if he wanted to fight and then reached into his waistband and pulled out a dark metallic handgun with a long barrel, according to police. The man took off running and called police.

Nathan A. Hofkamp, 25, 5240 Court St., Monee, was arrested on June 14 and charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued citations charging driving while license was suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Oakwood Street to investigate a suspicious vehicle complaint. Kathleen M. Hofkamp, 48, 5240 Court St., Monee, a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Adam S. Hofkamp, 27, 48 Alan Ave., Manteno, who police say had fled the vehicle on foot, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and processed on an outstanding warrant.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Shabbona Drive on June 14 to investigate a residential burglary. Doors of a shed had been pried open, according to police. Police say nothing appeared to be missing.

Erica D. Norman, 20, 8033 S. Yates Ave., Chicago, was arrested on June 14 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, and speeding over the posted limit when an officer on patrol in the area of Sauk Trail and Westwood Drive observed the vehicle Norman was driving speeding over the posted limit, 49 mph in a 35 mph speed zone, according to police.

Police say an Apple iPod and $32.50 were stolen from a juvenile walking on a path at Central Park near Westwood Drive on June 13. Police say that while walking, the subject was attacked by five subjects who struck him several times in the face with closed fists. Police are investigating. The incident was reported on June 14.

A juvenile was arrested and processed on a charge of domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street to investigate a report of a domestic dispute on June 15.

A Nintendo Wii game console valued at $199.99, a gold watch with a diamond stud valued at $200, 10 necklaces, 10 rings valued at $1000 total, and 10 pair of earrings were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Rich Road on June 16.

A black backpack was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Ash Street near the west entrance at 26th Street on June 17.

A dark blue boy’s 20-inch Mongoose bicycle with black spokes was reported stolen from the Park Forest Aqua Center on June 17.

An air-conditioning unit was reported stolen from a concrete slab outside a residence in the 400 block of Indianwood Boulevard on June 17.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street on June 18 to investigate a report of a disturbance. Police say a number of individuals were involved in a verbal argument and some people began fighting. Because of multiple conflicting stories between both parties and witnesses, there were no arrests, according to police.

Chavon Q. Elam, 30, 1532 Kastenn Dr., Dolton, was arrested on June 19 and charged with resisting a peace officer, disobeying a traffic signal, obstructing identification, fugitive from justice, no valid driver’s license, no insurance, expired registration, and disobeying a traffic control signal when an officer stopped the vehicle Elam was driving after the driver allegedly disobeyed a traffic control device northbound on forest Boulevard at Lakewood Boulevard. A passenger in the vehicle, Kimberly K. Adams, 38, 123 Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer.

Police were dispatched to Indiana School, 165 Indiana Street, to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. Police spoke with a witness who heard the sound of breaking glass and saw a group of juveniles standing near the fifth grade wing of Indiana School. Police are investigating.

A UPS box containing a cell phone was reported stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 100 block of Shabbona Drive on June 20.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Onarga Street on June 20 to investigate a report of domestic battery. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
