Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Cameron P. Gaskin, 18, 175 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on June 28 and charged with unlawful violation of park rules and possession of cannabis when an officer made contact with Gaskin in Central Park after the park had closed, according to police.
An 11-year-old juvenile walking home from playing with friends was assaulted by three teenagers near the intersection of Thomas Street and Rockwell Street, according to police. The three teenagers approached the victim and began to punch him with closed fists in the arm, chest, and cheek. The victim was able to run away.
Akilah S. Thomas, 29, 320 Illinois St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 1 and charged with assault and processed on an outstanding warrant out of Will County when an officer responded to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate an assault complaint.
Johnny T. Fleming, 19, 302 W. 34th St., Steger, was arrested on July 1 and charged with operating a motor vehicle when registration was suspended, driving with a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and possession of cannabis when an officer traveling northbound on Western Avenue approached the intersection of Western Avenue and North Street and conducted a LEADS inquiry on a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue. A passenger in the vehicle, Montel E. Jean-Louis, 20, 545 Andover St., Chicago Heights, was also arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.
A Comcast cable box was reported stolen from the living room of a residence in the first block of Cherry Street on July 1.
A window of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Mohawk Street was reported shattered on July 2. Restitution was paid to the owner after the juvenile offender was identified via video surveillance on July 10.
Police say a juvenile had his headphones stolen by two offenders who came up to him while he was walking in the 200 block of Shabbona Street on July 3. Police say one of the offenders came at him from behind and put his arm around the victim’s neck. The victim surrendered his headphones. After conducting an investigation, police arrested Montae W. Edwards, 19, 719 Blackhawk Dr., University Park, and charged him with felony robbery.
Gyland Howard, 18, 175 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest; Quartez Evans, 27, 2848 Bending Creek Trail, Crete; Varon Lowe, 19, 3556 Western Ave, Park Forest; and Demetrius Wright, 22, 38 McCarthy Rd., Park Forest, were arrested on July 3 and charged with possession of cannabis when police responded to the 3500 block of Western Avenue to investigate a complaint of subjects gambling (throwing dice) and smoking cannabis, according to police.
Police say someone pried open the gas cap door of a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Talala Street on July 4. Police say it appeared that someone put fireworks in the gas tank. Police say the resident reported hearing a loud boom going off in front of the house at about 1:45 AM.
David B. Armster, 24, 55 N. Arbor Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on July 4 and charged with driving while license was suspended and possession of cannabis after an officer observed the vehicle Amster was driving disobeyed the traffic signal at the intersection of Forest Boulevard and Lakewood Boulevard, according to police.
A Stihl weed eater valued at $200, a Toro electric blower valued at $40, a Craftsman 150 piece tool set valued at $150, a DeWalt combo tool set valued at $200, and a Ryobi tool bag containing a jigsaw and circular saw valued at $125 are among items reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Navajo Street on July 4.
Shawn Perkins, 23, 302 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 4 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street in reference to a report of reckless driving.
A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Berry Street on July 6. The purse was discovered in the 300 block of New Salem Street when a resident saw someone in a vehicle throw the purse from a backseat passenger window.
Issac K. Robinson, 21, 19 W. Rocket Circle, Park Forest, was arrested on July 6 and charged with three counts of disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Gold Street to investigate a disorderly conduct complaint.
A black Nissan Maxima, Illinois license plate 3014092, was reported stolen from a garage in the 400 block of Gettysburg Street on July 7. The vehicle had been left in the garage with keys in the ignition. A second vehicle, also with keys in the ignition, was broken into but nothing of value was taken, according to police.
The front picture window of a residence in the 300 block of Oswego Street was reported shattered on July 7.
An LG flat-screen television worth approximately $2500 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Wayne Street on July 8.
Police were dispatched to the first block of Apple Lane on July 8 to investigate a domestic battery complaint. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Stanton Street on July 9.
Jeremy M. Collins, 25, 5421 Main St., Monee, was arrested on July 9 and charged with driving while license was suspended and possession of cannabis when an officer observed the vehicle Collins was driving traveling eastbound on Monee Road at 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to police.
Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Larue Street on July 9 to investigate a report of domestic battery. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
A black Apple iPhone 4S was reported stolen from a locker room at Rich East High School on July 9.
A door of a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street was reported kicked open on July 10. Police say the offenders did not enter the residence.
Charles A. Bates, 33, 35A Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 10 and charged with felony failure to register as a violent offender when an officer on patrol observed that the vehicle Bates was driving southbound on Western Avenue did not have a functioning rear registration plate light.
A PlayStation 3, a Nintendo DS, an iPod Touch, and three PlayStation 3 video games were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Winnebago Street on July 11.
