Man Shot Dead On Central Park Ave.

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Park Forest Police released a statement Monday reporting that a man had been shot dead in the 22100 block of Central Park Avenue.

According to police, on Monday, March 27th, 2017, at approximately 4:08 am, police responded to a call of shots fired outside in the area of the 22100 block of Central Park. Responding officers found a male in his late teens suffering from at least one gunshot wound and showing no signs of life.

Responding paramedics confirmed that the male victim was deceased.

According to police, a 29-year-old man is in custody and a weapon has been recovered.

Preliminary information indicates that this incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two adults known to each other, and that this is not a random crime.

The victim is not being identified at this time pending positive identification and notification of his next of kin, according to police.

This is an active investigation and more information will be made available at a later time, police said.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was activated and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit was called to assist the Park Forest Investigations Unit.
