Officers responded to a residence in the 0-100 block of Hemlock Street in Park Forest on July 26, 2017, for a report of an infant not breathing.

The child, a 2-and-a-half-month-old old baby girl, was rushed to emergency care, but died on July 31, 2017, police said.

“While the Park Forest Police Department does not currently have reason to suspect foul play, the final conclusion of the death investigation is pending additional information from the Office of the Cook County Medical Examiner,” police said in a statement.

“Our hearts are with the family members who lost this young life as the investigation continues,” police said.
