Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—November 17, 2016 Message from Park Forest Police Chief Pete Green regarding continued incidents of women attacked and robbed in their homes:

I want to reiterate information that was contained in an October 28th Community Alert as we have had two more similar incidents in the area of Onarga Street.

In each of these two most recent incidents female residents were overpowered by a male suspect who had forced entry into the homes. The male adult suspect binds the victims and steals items from the homes prior to leaving. The incidents seem to be happening during the early evening hours.

We have reason to believe that these Park Forest incidents are connected to other incidents that have been reported in other south suburban communities. As our description of the suspect is vague we are asking all Park Forest residents to be vigilant and be aware of your surroundings when arriving or leaving your homes. Please report any suspicious vehicles or people in the area of your homes that appear to be loitering in the area.

It’s important for you to call the Police Department’s 911 system and report any suspicious people or vehicles you see in your area. If you have information that you think is important into the investigation of these incidents please contact our Detective Division at 708-748-1309.

We are increasing our Patrols in these areas and the Detectives are using all resources available to them to bring a conclusion to this situation. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. We will always need your assistance, as there are more citizens than police and your calls and information are important to us.

Note: The title of this article was updated onFriday, November 18, 2016, to focus more on the content of the alert.
