Community Alert: Woman Sexually Assaulted in Park Forest

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police Department issued a community alert regarding a report that an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted Monday while walking home from Rich East High School.

The statement follows:

“The Park Forest Police Department is investigating the reported sexual of assault of an 18-year-old woman on Monday, May 15, at approximately 4:40 p.m. in the area of Wildwood Drive and Wilshire Street.

“The offender, who is not known by the victim, is described as a black male, approximately 18 to 24 years of age, 5’2” to 5’6” tall, a medium athletic build, and a light to medium skin tone with a full, thin beard.

“He was reported to be wearing a black t- shirt and dark blue and light blue pajama style pants. He was armed with a handgun.

“The victim also reported having her backpack style purse stolen.

“Anyone who may have been in the area during this incident is urged to call the Park Forest Police Department Investigations Unit at 708-748-1309. Investigators are diligently following up on leads in this incident. In the meantime, the public is urged to employ vigilance and awareness to their surroundings. If you see something suspicious, call 911.”
