Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- These police reports include arrests through June 25, 2019. Charges for those arrested include domestic battery, battery, possession of cannabis, and possession of firearm ammunition without a valid FOID.

Domestic Battery
Jalen L. Irvin, 18, 11709 S. Sangamon St. #2, Chicago, was arrested on June 20 and charged with one count of domestic battery when police were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Sauganash Street regarding a report of a domestic disturbance.
Mr. Irvin allegedly “punched a woman several times with a closed fist causing her pain to the face and lip,” according to the report.
Domestic Battery: Two Counts
Kevin H. Brown, 56, 321 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 21 and charged with two counts of domestic battery when police were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Winnebago Street at 6:23 PM to investigate a report of domestic battery.
Mr. Brown allegedly choked a woman, according to the report. According to police, Mr. Brown was uncooperative and had a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his breath.
Possession of Cannabis
Deshaun I. Edmond, 18, 402 S. Orchard Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on June 22 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol on Chestnut Street near Murphy Park observed at least two subjects sitting inside a parked vehicle at 11:28 PM. Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle were also issued municipal citations and then transported to their residence in Park Forest.
Mr. Edmond’s vehicle was administratively towed and seized. Mr. Edmond was transported to the Park Forest Police Department where he was issued his citation and administrative seizure paperwork, according to police.
Possession of Firearm Ammunition Without a Valid FOID
Julius J. Spicer, 25, 26 Abbey Lane, Park Forest, was arrested on June 23 and charged with possession of firearm ammunition without a valid FOID and operating a motor vehicle with no front registration plate when officers traveling southbound on Western Avenue toward Chestnut Street observed a silver Mercedes-Benz traveling north on Western Avenue from Chestnut Street that had no front registration plate, according to police.
The officers performed a U-turn and proceeded north to catch up to the vehicle. After catching up with the Mercedes-Benz, the officer saw that the car had an Illinois registration plate, according to police.
Police initiated a traffic stop in Court C-4 off of Western Avenue. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Julius J. Spicer, had no form of identification on his person or in the vehicle, according to police, but did have valid insurance.
Police obtained Mr. Spicer’s name and date of birth and conducted a LEADS inquiry, discovering that Mr. Spicer had a valid driver’s license in Illinois.
Mr. Spicer also had a non-extraditable warrant out of Edwardsville, Illinois, according to police.
Officers smelled a strong odor of cannabis coming from Mr. Spicer’s vehicle. They asked if there was any cannabis in the vehicle and Mr. Spicer allegedly admitted to having some under the driver’s seat, according to police. While performing a search of Mr. Spicer’s vehicle, an officer discovered suspect cannabis in a knotted plastic sandwich bag under the driver’s seat. The officer also discovered several loose rounds of live 7.62 ammunition and two boxes of Red Army Standard ammunition containing additional live rounds of 7.62 ammunition (7.625×39 124 grain, head stamped 7.62×39 and an unknown symbol, according to the report) in the center console of Mr. Spicer’s vehicle.
Police learned that Mr. Spicer did not have a Firearm Owner Identification card (FOID), according to police. Mr. Spicer’s vehicle was towed and impounded.
In addition to the other charges, Mr. Spicer was issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis.
Battery
Harvey L. Pearson, 54, 25945 S. Oak Road, Monee, was arrested on June 24 and charged with battery when police responded to a home in the 400 block of Indiana Street to investigate a report of a disturbance.
Mr. Pearson allegedly struck another man causing him to fall and injure his ankle, according to police.
