We present Theresa Settles RN BSN, candidate for Village Trustee.

Her statement follows:

As a lifelong resident of Park Forest, I currently have the honor of serving as a first time Village Trustee and the pleasure of serving as Trustee

Liaison on the Park Forest’s Human Relations and Environmental Commissions. My husband James N and I have raised two daughters, whom both attended Indiana Elementary School and Rich East High School. Currently I am employed as a Cardiology RN with work experience in Occupational Nursing (Chicago Heights Ford Stamping Plant), as well as corporate experience in both Banking (First National Bank) and Advertising (Foote Cone and Belding). I continue to maintain a small Park Forest Home Business in CPR education. I became involved early with Park Forest community service through school activities, becoming more involved with specific community interests such as becoming a member of the Tall Grass Arts Association (former Board Member), Park Forest League of Women Voters Member (former Board Member), Park Forest Rotary Member (Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow), Dr. Charles Gavin Foundation Board Member, and former Far South Suburban NAACP Member (former Board Member/Secretary). I earned a Graduate degree from Governor [sic] State University and maintain Premium Alumni status. As an experienced and degreed nursing professional, I bring my understanding of science, data, and performance management to the quick thinking but compassionate service I have shown over the years. I have always approached Village service with honesty, dignity, and integrity, collaborating with other elected officials to identify the forever changing challenges and solutions for the Village of Park Forest and our residents. I again pledge to commit my time, talents, and service to all Park Forest residents, allowing us to continue to Live, Grow, and Discover together.
