Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The Village of Park Forest is seeking names and addresses of service men and women serving overseas in conflict regions. In addition to collecting items for care packages for them, the Village would like to honor these residents at a military recognition ceremony again in November in conjunction with Veterans’ Day. A ceremony was held last year in Village Hall honoring active, discharged, and retired military personnel.

Among the items being collected for care packages are candy, gum, shampoo, shower gel, books, puzzle books, playing cards, hand cream, hand sanitizers, combs, brushes, feminine products, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, snack items, small packages of tea, coffee, writing paper, envelopes, cameras, small photo albums, and phone cards. Residents may bring donations for care packages to Village Hall during normal business hours.

Plans are currently underway for this year’s recognition ceremony. Any residents who have names and addresses of residents who are serving or who have family members currently serving should contact Judi Lancaster in the at 708-748-1112, or via email at [email protected].
