School Places First in Seven Events at Two Early Season Speech Tournaments
Richton Park, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Southland College Prep Charter High School, a Richton Park, Illinois public charter high school, placed first in four events at the Royal Court Invitational Speech tournament hosted by York High School in Elmhurst and in three events at the Ike’s Early Bird Novice Invitational tournament at Eisenhower High School, Blue Island.
Both events were held on November 2.
Southland’s first place Varsity medalists in individual competitions at the York Invitational were: Bri’yon Watts and Isaiah Morton in Dramatic Duet Acting; Nyah Ware in Impromptu Speaking; Savannah Taffe in Radio Speaking. Carey Gidron placed first in Oratorical Declamation in the Novice division of the tournament.
Bri’yon Watts also placed second in Poetry Reading.
In the Ike’s Early Bird Novice tournament, Southland’s first-place winners were: Josh Tisdale, Humorous Interpretation; Hailey Love, Impromptu Speaking; and Hailey Ivy, Poetry Reading. Hailey Love also placed second in Radio Speaking and Kylie Hughes was fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking.
