Sister Catherine Ryan at Governors State University


University Park, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Civic and Community Engagement lecture series at Governors State University sponsored by the University Honors Program and the College of Arts and Sciences’ Political and Justice Studies Program continues with a presentation by Sister Catherine Ryan.

Sister Catherine Ryan is currently the Executive Director of Maryville Academy and was the Assistant State’s Attorney under Richard M. Daley. She also served for seven years as the Chief of the Cook county Juvenile Justice Bureau.

Her presentation, “Bringing in the Community to Serve Juvenile Offenders,” is on March 25, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the Hall of Honors.

Additional lectures in the series include “Community Development” by Mary Houghton, President of Shore Bank and Chair of Shore Bank International,on April 1; and “Promoting Civic and Community Engagement” by the Honorable Abner Mikva, Federal First District Court Judge,on April 15.
