Senior Economist at Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Returns as Featured Speaker for PSC’s 2019 Economic Forecast Breakfast

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- William A. Strauss, senior economist and economic advisor in the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will be the featured speaker at the Prairie State College (PSC) Annual Economic Forecast Breakfast, scheduled on Feb. 22, 2019.

In addition to providing a prominent expert’s analysis of the economy to the south suburban business community, the annual Economic Forecast Breakfast also raises scholarship money for PSC students.

This year’s event will be held at Ravisloe Country Club, located at 18231 South Park Ave. in Homewood. The morning begins with a 7:30 a.m. breakfast, followed by the speaker presentation at 8:15 a.m. A question and answer session follows.

Individual tickets to the event are $25. Sponsorships for the event also are available. New this year, sponsorships of the breakfast also include sponsorship for the college’s 31stAnnual Jazz Fest concert on Friday, Feb. 15.

A $1,500 Scholarship Sponsorship includes a 7 a.m. VIP reception at the breakfast with PSC President Dr. Terri L. Winfree, reserved seating for 10, breakfast and recognition in the program and event signage. It also includes preferred seating for 10 at the Jazz Fest and pre-concert VIP Reception with musicians; full-page ad in Jazz Fest program; recognition as sponsor in Jazz Fest program and on event signage for tickets purchased by February 8.

A $300 Table Sponsorship will reserve a table for 10 at the breakfast, and includes breakfast and recognition in the program and event signage, as well as preferred seating for 4 at Jazz Fest and pre-concert VIP Reception with musicians; recognition as sponsor in Jazz Fest program and on event signage for tickets purchased by February 8.

A $75 Friend Sponsorship will reserve two seats at the breakfast, and includes breakfast and recognition in the program and event signage, as well as preferred seating for 2 at Jazz Fest and pre-concert VIP Reception with musicians.

Strauss joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 1982. His chief responsibilities include analyzing the current performance of both the Midwest economy and the manufacturing sector for use in monetary policy. He organizes the Bank’s Economic Outlook Symposium and Automotive Outlook Symposium. In addition, he conducts industrial and manufacturing roundtables throughout the year.

Strauss earned a B.A. in economics and geography from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and an M.A. in economics from Northwestern University.  He is a Certified Business Economist™, the certification in business economics and data analytics developed by the National Association for Business Economics. He has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago and Webster University in Chicago.  He currently teaches at DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, and at the University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies.
