Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Board of Education will meet as a Finance Committee, Monday, November 3, 2008 at the District Office, 242 South Orchard Drive, Park Forest, IL 60466. The meeting will be held in the Board Room and will be called to order at 7:00 p.m.
The Board of Education will meet in Regular Session, Monday, November 3, 2008 at the District Office, 242 South Orchard Drive, Park Forest, Illinois. The meeting will be held in the Board Room and will be called to order at 8:00 p.m.
The board will hear committee reports, including the Education Committee, Finance Committee, Legal Action Watch Committee, SCOPE, SPEED, Policy Committee, Village of Park Forest and the City of Chicago Heights.
The board will consider the following people for employement: Susan Paolone as a Building Assistant at Forest Trail School, effective October 20, 2008; Mara Vielman as an Instructional/Building Assistant at Forest Trail Middle Grade Center, effective October 20, 2008; Carenda Lacy as a 1:1 Special Education Teacher Assistant at Algonquin Primary Center, effective October 29, 2008; and Darius Johnson as an Instructional /Building Assistant at Forest Trail Jr.High Grade Center, effective October 29, 2008.
The the Board of Education will also discuss directing the business manager to publish a notice for a Public Hearing regarding the 2008 Levy on a date in December to be determined.
The board is expected to approve appoint Jeanette Kreuz to vote on the IMRF Trustee Election Ballot. The Board of Education is also expected to approve the policy change between Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District 163 and Metlife Insurance with a change in the death benefit from $25,000 to $50,000 for members of the collective bargaining groups, pending Board approval of the Collective Bargaining Agreements, with an effective date of December 1, 2008.
The Board of Education will also go into Closed Session to discuss information regarding appointment, employment or dismissal of an employee or officer, contracts, grievances, negotiations, the sale of real estate, student concerns, Superintendent’s evaluation, or Board/Superintendent goals/concerns.
