University Park, IL—(ENEWSPF)—May 20, 2017. Are you having a hard time finding the right camp that will engage your child’s brain and keep him/her entertained? Look no further — STEAM camp at Governors State University (GSU) to the rescue.

Faculty and staff in GSU’s College of Arts and Sciences have collaborated to bring middle and high school students, ages 11 to 16, a one-week, interactive learning experience. John Sowa, Chair of the Division of Chemistry and Biological Sciences says, “This camp brings together the power of technology and the creativity of the arts to develop balanced minds.”

Each day of camp will be split into two sessions — with the morning focused on the sciences and the afternoon on the arts. In the morning, campers will discover robotics, explore the world of computer programming, and launch water rockets using hydraulic pressure. They’ll explore the natural world in the renowned Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park in the midst of the prairie on campus grounds. Afternoon sessions will include the technology of the theater, dronography, backstage tours at Center for Performing Arts, ceramics, and more.
