Spartan Men (12-3) Mount Late Comeback, Fall Short In Test With ESCC Leader Marist

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Marian Catholic turned on a fourth-quarter rush on Thursday, but couldn’t completely overcome a 14-point deficit in a 53-47 ESCC loss to visiting Marist.

The Spartans (12-3) are 11-1 in non-league play, but fell to 1-2 in the ESCC. The closest Marian got down the stretch was 51-47.

Malik Tidwell paced the Spartans with 20 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Chris White was the lone other Marian player in double figures with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Ahron Ulis (five assists) and Josh Smith (two steals) each chipped in six points for the home squad.

Sophs: Marian (7-8) prevailed over Marist in an ESCC test, 40-33.

Frosh: The Spartan A Squad notched a 56-48 triumph over the RedHawks, while the B Team dropped an ESCC test against Marist, 56-28.
