Prairie State College’s Dampier Claims Second Straight Region IV Player of the Week Honor

CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–January 3, 2017. The Prairie State College Athletic Department was pleased to learn that Ariana Dampier of the women’s basketball team was named the NJCAA Region IV Player of the Week for the week ending December 18.

The recognition marks the second straight week that Dampier, a Homewood-Flossmoor High School product, has earned the honor.

In two games during the course of the previous week, Dampier totaled 44 points, 26 rebounds, 12 assists and nine steals.

In the Pioneers’ 87-54 victory over Triton on December 13, Dampier tallied 23 points while pulling down 17 rebounds and making off with five steals.

In PSC’s 73-39 win over Malcolm X on December 17, the 5-foot-9 guard scored 21 points while snaring nine rebounds, dishing out five assists and making off with four steals.

Dampier is averaging 15.2 points per game.  Her 46 total steals on the season are good for 10th on the national charts.
