Prairie State College Celebrating 50 Years of Nursing During Special Nov. 15 Anniversary Event

CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–November 7, 2016. Prairie State College (PSC) is celebrating 50 years of nursing during a special anniversary celebration from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, November 15, in the Conference Center of the college’s main campus, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

Alumni, former faculty members and current students and faculty in the nursing program at PSC are invited to join with community members and program supporters to celebrate 50 years of excellence in nursing education. Light refreshments will follow a brief presentation. Attendees also will have an opportunity to take tours of the the current nursing labs and classrooms.

“So many things in the program have changed over the years,” said PSC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Marie Hansel, a graduate of the program, as well as former dean of health programs and former faculty member of nursing at PSC. “But, I think our graduates – whether recent or from years past – will be able to meet with each other and appreciate that some things never change.”

The PSC Nursing Program is a rigorous academic and professional education program preparing men and women for careers in nursing.
