Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- eNews Park Forest is pleased once again to present our series featuring Park Forest’s best and brightest students, today introducing Elyse Harrington, a life-long, 18-year resident of Park Forest who enjoys AP Psychology and involves herself in a number of activities: Drama (four years), French National Honor Society (senior year), GSA (four years), National Honor Society (two years), Softball (two years, most improved player, senior year), Thespians (four years).

Meet Elyse Harrington:

  1. Are you a Park Forest Resident?  Yes, for 18 years.
  2. At Rich East all four years?  Yes. I have been a student at Rich East High School all four years.
  3. Favorite classes and why:  AP Psychology because I like learning and knowing more about how and why my brain works the way it does and learning more about people and their behavior. I also like biology because I like to know how things are made.  
  4. Favorite teachers:  Mrs. Christiansen and Ms. Ptak because they have taught me almost everything I really know.
  5. GPA/Class Rank: 3.884 (weighted), 3.479 (unweighted). Ranked 8th of 204.
  6. ACT: I earned a 24.
  7. Areas met on PSAE:  I met in math and reading.
  8. AP Exams: I will be taking the AP Psychology and AP English exams in the spring.
  9. Activities/Athletics/Clubs  participated in: Drama (four years), French National Honor Society (senior year), GSA (four years), National Honor Society (two years), Softball (two years, most improved player, senior year), Thespians (four years).
  10. Outside activities/employment:  I work at Glensted Animal Hospital in Glenwood as a kennel assistant.
  11. College choice/Major: Well, I play on attending DePaul University to major in psychology.
  12. Where do you want to be in five years/10 years:  In five years, I plan to be starting a career in psychology and in 10 years, I plan on earning a doctorate in psychology and want to be comfortably enjoying my career.
