Meet O’Neale Bruce:

  1. What town do you live in?  No. Chicago Heights.
  2. At Rich East all four years? Yes, I have attended Rich East High School all four years.
  3. Favorite classes and why: British Literature. It comes very east to me. I just found everything we were taught very interesting.
  4. Favorite teachers and/or coaches and why:  My favorite teacher would have to be Ms. (Cindy) Johnson for English classes. She always pushes me to do my best and wouldn’t let me fail — no matter what. My favorite coach would have to be Mr. (Matt) Shank. He is my wrestling coach and he has been around since I was a freshman. I now view him more as a father figure.
  5. GPA/Class Rank: I’ve been working diligently to bring my grades up. I now have a 3.1 GPA this year. Ranked in upper half of his class of 204.
  6. ACT:  I received a 21 on my ACT.
  7. Areas met on PSAE: Reading and math.
  8. Activities/Athletics/Clubs participated in/special honors/awards:  Football freshman and sophomore year. Wrestling, conference champ (145) for three years. Sectional and state qualifier.
  9. Clubs, hobbies, community/church, special volunteering in community: I’ve been working with the Members of the Park Forest Police Athletic and Activity Center (PAAC), teaching younger kids how to wrestle.
  10. College choice/major: I will be attending Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, to major in Electrical Engineering.
  11. Where do you want to be in five years/in ten years: In five years, I plan on pursuing a masters degree in electrical engineering. In ten years, the plan is to be living happily in California with a solid career and a family.
