Marian Speech Earns Two 3rd-Place State Finishes

King & Nunn, Performance in Round among IHSA’s best

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Marian Catholic High School’s Performance in the Round continued its strong tradition with a Third Place IHSA State finish on Feb. 20 at the Peoria Civic Center, while Adam King (Lansing) and Mollyanne Nunn (Crete) teamed to earn a Third Place finish in Dramatic Duet Acting with their performance Sweet Nothing in My Ear.

Meanwhile, Marian also gained a Sixth Place State finish in Humorous Duet Acting with King and Zach Henry’s (Lansing) performance, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged).

The Performance in the Round actors performing The Serpent included Jaime Patriarca (Park Forest), Megan McDonnell (Oak Forest), Mary Lou Herbias (Calumet City), Hannah Lang (Monee), Kelly Crescenzo (Steger), Bernadette Senick (Tinley Park), Kieran Dziallo (Orland Park), Kyle Fitzgerald (Park Forest), Tony Vaughn (Lowell), Kyle Habben (Matteson), and Michael Irwin (Tinley Park). Coached by Mark Donaway, Marian earned a fourth-place finish at IHSA State 2009 in Performance in the Round.

Marian Catholic’s other state qualifier representatives included Jonathan Williamsen (Steger) in Dramatic Interpretation, and Joe Wlos (Crete) in Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu Speaking.
