Apply for the 2011 CBCF Strive for Excellence Scholarship
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is accepting applications for the 2011 CBCF Strive for Excellence Scholarship. The Strive for Excellence Scholarship was established in 2006 with a gift from Walmart intended to expand CBCF Scholarship and Internship programs, based upon Walmart’s belief in operating locally and giving back globally. For that reason, recipients are expected to have demonstrated the potential to make a great impact on their local community. The award amount for 2011 is to be decided and based upon the number of participating Congressional Black Caucus members. Applicants must be currently enrolled or preparing to enroll full time at an accredited college or university, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and exhibit leadership ability as well as participation in community service activities. Deadline for all application materials is April 1st; for more information or to apply please visit http://cbcfinc.org/scholarships.html.
