DePaul Students Ask Quinn to Support MAP Grants

Springfield, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Approximately 170 students from DePaul University travelled to the State Capital in Springfield, IL, on October 13, 2009, according to the Director of Public Relations at DePaul University, John Holden. They were there to show support of the need based Monetary Award Program know as the MAP grant. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission’s website reports that 2,500 students and activists were in attendance.  Students from other colleges and Universities also converged on the Capital including Loyola University and St. Xavier University.

On October 18, 2009 Governor Quinn and lawmakers agreed to put another $205 million into the program.
