Olympia Fields, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Two Arcadia School third grade students were top winners in the District 3 Woman’s Club poetry contest. Joslyn Smith placed first and received $75 and Bria Johnson placed second and received $50.
“Every year, Arcadia School second graders enter poems in a poetry contest conducted by the Olympia Fields Woman’s Club,” said Arcadia teacher Pat Princehorn. “The best poems from each grade level are read by the young poet at the Olympia Fields Woman’s Club’s May meeting.
This fall, the women contacted me to obtain permission from last year’s second graders to enter their poems in the poetry contest for District 3 of the Woman’s Club. Two of the five poems submitted were winners in District 3 at their age level. We are very proud of the girls.”
