Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– On Wednesday, February 11,the Rich East Scholastic Bowl team competed in its Conference Meet. The JV team and the Varsity performed very well against very strong competition.
Dr. Epstein’s JV team had a tough night with Ridda Kansara and Eniola Orenuga correctly answered multiple toss up questions while Demarco White and Isabel Baez added answers to bonus questions.
The Varsity team took third place in conference after tough losses to rivals Kankakee and Crete Monee. All-SICA recipient Justin Sims led the team with five toss-up answers. Kyle Rada, the school’s popular culture expert, somehow knew the ingredients to a mint julep.
Other high marks went to Co-Captain Alyssa Hernandez, Amy Okichichand and Mercedes Collopy, the team’s Literature and British History expert, earned points for the Rocket Scholastic Bowlers answering multiple toss-ups. Cathy Mead, Tyler Murray, Alexia Caulker, Josh Travis, Kyle Travis, and Mike Collopy also contributed to the Rocket victory.
Next week, Rich East competes in an 11-team tournament for the All-SICA trophy.
