Washington, D.C.-(ENEWSPF)- Calling it a bill to help tax cheats, This evening, Congresswoman Robin Kelly voted against a new rules package as well as legislation to roll back critical tax enforcement provisions from the Inflation Reduction Act.

Congresswoman Kelly is deeply committed to working for everyday Americans with her colleagues across the aisle, but this rules package was crafted by the far right and undermines the ability of Congress to work for the people. These rules make it easier for House Republicans to give tax breaks to the wealthy and well-connected, instead of working to support working people.

“I am disappointed that the first bill that House Republicans have chosen to introduce is designed to help tax cheats continue to avoid paying their fair share,” said Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02). “I was proud to vote for the Inflation Reduction Act, which fought against billionaire tax evasion and updated our systems to get working families the refunds they are owed. Despite House Republicans attempting to roll back these gains, I will continue to fight for the hardworking people of Illinois’s Second District and ensure that our economy works for everyone – not just the wealthy few.”
